Welcome to STOP News ("App", "Platform", "Service"), a digital application that allows users to read, listen to, share, and comment on news articles from different publishers, creating a personalized and social news experience.

By using the App – even without registration – you agree to these Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using STOP News.

2. Description of the Service

STOP News allows users to:

• Access a news feed showing the most relevant news, even without registration, filterable by category or country
• Use the Messages section to exchange articles, opinions, and multimedia content with other users in a social format
• Create a free account via social login or email to save collections of articles and personalize their experience
• Set reading preferences (categories, sources, countries) and modify them at any time
• Read articles in a uniform, standardized layout, react with likes or dislikes, and interact through comments
• Listen to news via the official Stop Reader voice or other available voices
• Share articles with other users on the platform, on external social networks, or export them as PDF
• Access the Newsstand, which allows browsing newspapers in their original format, viewing front pages, and using advanced search by date, keyword, or category
• Create and manage personalized collections of saved articles
• View real-time rankings of the most active users, most-read newspapers, most appreciated journalists, and most listened-to voices or articles
• Manage a personal profile, tracking reading activity, comments, levels, and preferences

3. Registration and User Account

• Registration is optional but required to access certain features (e.g., collections, messages, commenting)
• Users must provide accurate, up-to-date, and complete information when registering
• Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activities performed under their account
• STOP News reserves the right to suspend or delete any account that violates these Terms or applicable laws

4. Permitted Use and User Conduct

Users agree to use the App lawfully and in good faith, and must refrain from any activity that could:

• Infringe on third-party rights (copyright, trademarks, privacy, reputation)
• Disseminate illegal, defamatory, discriminatory, or offensive content
• Post spam, unauthorized advertising, or misleading content
• Alter, damage, or interfere with the App's operation or with other users' data

STOP News reserves the right to moderate, remove, or report content that violates these rules and to suspend or ban offending users.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

• All editorial content displayed on STOP News (articles, images, logos, trademarks, audio voices) remains the property of their respective authors or publishers
• STOP News offers an aggregated and standardized reading experience without altering the original content of sources
• Any reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of content available through the App without authorization is strictly prohibited

6. Social Features and Messaging

• Registered users may interact through comments, messages, and article sharing
• User-generated content ("UGC") remains the property of the user. However, by posting or sharing content within STOP News, users grant STOP News a non-exclusive, royalty-free, revocable license to display and distribute such content within the App
• Users are solely responsible for the content they share and for ensuring it complies with applicable laws and third-party rights

7. Data Collection and Privacy

The use of the App involves the processing of certain personal data (e.g., email, preferences, interactions). Such processing is carried out in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 – GDPR and the Privacy Policy available at: https://stopnews.app/privacy

8. Limitation of Liability

• STOP News strives to maintain the service active and updated but does not guarantee that it will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from delays
• The App may contain links to third-party websites over which STOP News has no control and assumes no responsibility
• STOP News is not responsible for opinions, comments, or content posted by users

9. Changes to the Terms

STOP News may update these Terms at any time, notifying registered users or publishing the revised version within the App. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Account Deletion and Termination

Users may deactivate or delete their account at any time through the profile settings or by contacting info@stopnews.app

Account deletion results in the removal of personal data and associated content, except where retention is required by law.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any disputes arising from the use of STOP News shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Vicenza (Italy), unless otherwise provided by mandatory law.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By registering or using the App, the user acknowledges that they have read, understood, and fully accepted these Terms and Conditions of Use of STOP News.
